10 Years of Scandinavian Capital Markets

We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary at Scandinavian Capital Markets. We want to take this moment to reflect on how we’ve developed as an organisation in the past decade, how we’ve supported thousands of traders to realise their goals by providing the right trading conditions and tools they need and share our aspirations for the next decade of Scandinavian Capital Markets.

The origins of Scandinavian Capital Markets

Most of you reading this post probably won’t recognise Scandinavian Capital Markets as a ten-year-old brand. In 2011, Arif Alexander Ahmad started the company as a boutique asset management firm focused on opportunities in the foreign exchange market. 

Arif founded the company based on a set of values that the financial services industry and particularly the forex sector seemed to lack: integrity, trust, transparency and putting clients’ needs first.

After gaining authorisation from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) in 2012, Scandinavian Capital Markets began providing non-discretionary services exclusively to high-net-worth clients and institutions.

In 2015, Michael Buchbinder joined Scandinavian Capital Markets and partnered with Arif to transform the company and become Sweden’s first STP-ECN forex broker, a niche that was desperately lacking the core values of Scandinavian Capital Markets.

In 2017, we launched our retail forex trading services and began offering discretionary forex trading services on popular self-trading platforms like MetaTrader, cTrader and Currenex.

What we’ve achieved so far

Innovating and transforming a company in a highly regulated market is challenging. As a financial institution, every new idea has to go through a thorough due diligence process to ensure it does not harm the integrity of the company or the dozens of other financial institutions we cooperate with daily. We’re incredibly proud of the new solutions launched to improve how our clients trade. 

2019:

• Launched Gold-i Multiple Allocation Manager Pro for Metatrader 4 – Learn more
• Launched the Valhalla initiative and invited 19-industry leaders to visit our offices and hosted them in Stockholm – Learn more

2020:

• Scandinavian Capital Markets launches Capital Introductions for hedge funds and traders seeking capital – Learn more

2021:
